Launched in 2025, the GISCI Ambassador Program was created to strengthen connections between GIS professionals and students preparing for the PreGISP Exam. Participating faculty members pledge to promote the GISP-Emerging (GISP-E) and GISP certifications on their campuses, using marketing and presentation materials provided by GISCI.

Earn 1 contribution point per academic year

Recognition in the GISCI community
Send 2-3 short emails or social media posts throughout the year to students who are eligible to sit for the PreGISP exam.
Distribute PreGISP and GISP informational materials (provided in digital toolkit).
Deliver at least one 15-minute presentation demonstrating the value and benefits of the GISP-E and GISP credentials, reasons for certification, the application process, etc. The GISCI Ambassador Toolkit includes slides and talking points to help guide the conversation.
Submit an ambassador survey at the end of the 2025-2026 academic year.
