Eastern Shore Regional GIS Cooperative (ESRGC) Named Latest GISCI Endorsing Employer

Des Plaines, IL (August 4, 2025) — The GIS Certification Institute (GISCI) is proud to announce the Eastern Shore Regional GIS Cooperative (ESRGC) as the newest GISCI Endorsing Employer, recognizing their outstanding commitment to advancing professional standards and supporting continued development in the geospatial industry.
The ESRGC is an outreach entity of Salisbury University and a joint initiative between the University, the Mid-Shore Regional Council, the Tri-County Council for the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland, and the Upper Shore Regional Council. The organization is comprised of highly skilled GIS and programming professionals dedicated to building partnerships with government agencies, non-profits, and private sector organizations to deliver innovative, data-driven decision-making tools.
With over 100 years of combined experience and two decades as a trusted GIS operation, the ESRGC has earned a strong reputation for professionalism, cutting-edge innovation, and high-quality production. Becoming a GISCI Endorsing Employer reinforces this reputation by underscoring their support for ethical practices and professional excellence in the geospatial field.
"The GISCI Endorsing Employer Program is highly relevant to the ESRGC as it reinforces our organization’s commitment to professional standards, ethical practices, and continued development in the geospatial field," said Lauren McDermott, GISP since 2014 and ESRGC Practice Manager.
Erin Silva, ESRGC Project Manager and GISP since 2015, added, "The program demonstrates a commitment to supporting employees in earning and maintaining their GISP credentials. It reinforces to both staff and partners that the organization prioritizes and invests in professional development."
As an Endorsing Employer, the ESRGC joins a growing network of forward-thinking organizations committed to elevating the geospatial profession by encouraging staff to achieve and maintain their Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) certification.
